University Libraries offers free subscriptions to The Economist

University of South Carolina Columbia faculty, staff and students may now access The Economist free of charge via an institutional online subscription provided by University Libraries.

Members of the USC Columbia community can launch their subscriptions by signing in through USC's institutional link with their university credentials, which creates an individual account with their university email address. Once the account has been established, subscribers can download the Economist app and enter their USC email to sign in. (Note: if asked to sign in by institution, choose the entry with the official garnet University Libraries logo labeled simply University of South Carolina in the list.)

The Economist provides global news, analysis, and commentary on politics, economics, business, science, and culture from an international perspective.

All USC Columbia faculty, staff and students can also subscribe free of charge to the New York Times and Wall Street Journal through enterprise subscriptions by University Libraries.

"Library sponsored online access to a highly requested resource like The Economist advances University Libraries' mission of making a wide array of information resources freely available to our campus community,” said University Libraries Head of Collections Management Brent Appling. “Access to The Economist will nicely complement existing library subscriptions to online news sources like the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times."
