About Match Day
Each year, College of Pharmacy students and alumni who opt to pursue postgraduate training are matched with institutions across the country. While most are matched through the ASHP Resident Matching Program, some students participate in executive residencies, fellowships or independent programs. Match Day is a time to celebrate them all!
While a residency isn’t required to become a licensed pharmacist, it can open the door to specialized roles in health systems, clinical practice, or academia. Our Pre-Residency Track at the USC College of Pharmacy equips students with the skills, experiences, and guidance needed to stand out as competitive candidates. Our strong placement rates reflect this comprehensive preparation, offering students a clear roadmap to navigate the match process and advance their pharmacy careers with confidence.
