Tyler Westall is a master’s student in the Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures. In 2024, he graduated magna cum laude from the University of South Carolina with a B.A. in German. He is currently pursuing an M.A. in German, with research interests focused on German literature and film from the late 19th century through the 1920s, leading up to the rise of National Socialism. He has a particular interest in the German Expressionist movement.

During the 2025–2026 academic year, Tyler will participate in the Bamberg exchange program through USC. While in Bamberg, he will concentrate on achieving greater mastery of the German language and advancing his research in preparation for his master’s thesis.
