Keri was born in Guerrero, Mexico, and raised in the small town of Newberry, South Carolina.
She earned both her Bachelor of Arts and Sciences (2021) and Master of Arts in Teaching
(2023) from Winthrop University. With four years of experience teaching Spanish, she has
worked extensively with students across K–12, particularly those in grades 9–12. Currently, she
serves as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for SPAN 109. Her academic interests include the
identity formation of U.S. Hispanic bilinguals as well as the cognitive and creative outcomes
observed in bilinguals, immersion students, and second-language learners.

Outside of academia, Keri enjoys dancing with friends, preparint authentic Mexican cuisine, and is currently in the process of learning French!
