Bio
Dr. Currence joined the USC Lancaster faculty in August of 1981 as Assistant Professor of Mathematics. Currently he holds the rank of Distinguished Professor Emeritus.
He received his PhD degree from the University of South Carolina, Columbia campus.
Although Dr. Currence taught mathematics for a number of years, he currently teaches:
- Introduction to Computer Concepts (CSCE 101)
- General Applications Programming (CSCE 102)
His current research centers on “Computer Science Education”, which involves studying how people learn and teach elementary and introductory computer science courses. The aim is to find ways to improve the quality of computer science instruction and learning experiences.
