The SEC Academic Leadership Development Program is designed to introduce faculty and early career administrators to the broad landscape of university administration in order to enhance their understanding of the challenges and complexities of academic leadership.
Mission Statement
The SEC Academic Leadership Development Program identifies, develops, prepares, and advances faculty and early career administrators from within the Southeastern Conference.
Goals
Through campus-based and SEC-wide workshops and activities, the SEC Academic Leadership Development Program provides participants opportunities to:
- Think critically about the future of the academy.
- Increase knowledge and understanding of academic leadership in the 21st century.
- Embrace the strength inherent in creating diverse and inclusive academic communities.
- Develop the managerial and organizational skills required to lead complex and dynamic organizations.
- Improve the general leadership skills and abilities of academic leaders.
